Tony and Joann Kemp, “Southern Silk Duo" has
been performing smooth & silky sounds of R&B
togrther professionally for nearly two decades.
Their interpretive jazz and contemporary pop genre
of music has allow them to take a memorable
musical journey opening for Dennis Edward,
Al Stewart, The Uppitty Blus Women and other
major acts. Performed at The Sylvia Theater, Spirit
Square and the Belk Theater. Regular performance
at Ballanytyne Resort, Currents Rest. and the North
Harbor Club, and performed regularly at functions for the Volunteer Police Dept. Private parties for several dignitaries like Alex English and the Mayor of Charlotte, and worked with the Charlotte Center City Parnters. Southern Silk performs at several local venues in Asheville, including the Biltmore Estate, The Asheville Arts Alliance functions, The Gateway Club, and church. Gifted enough to love and perform all styles of music.
